Anantapur police have unearthed a major e-stamp duty scam at a Mee-Seva centre in Kalyandurg, leading to the arrest of three people. SP P. Jagadeesh said that construction firms — SRC Infra, Neo Construction, and Suraj Infra — were defrauded of several lakhs in stamp duty payments. Investigations revealed that the accused paid as little as ₹2000 to the government while collecting over ₹16 lakh from clients.
Police arrested Boya Yerrappa, Mohan Babu, and Bhuvaneswari, seizing computers, mobile phones, and e-stamp certificates. The accused reportedly misused over 15,800 e-stamps worth ₹32 lakh.
